There's
really no way to top what other Bowie sites have already done
so eloquently, so instead I have chosen to display some of my
favorite Bowie photos that I have on file. A few of these are
from my personal Bowie memorabilia files, and a load of them are
screen captures.
I've
been a Bowie fan since I was introduced to him through the movie
"Labyrinth" at the tender age of six. My Bowie obsession
developed further from thirteen onward, as I began to explore
more of his back catalog.
David
Bowie has gone beyond a simple high school crush for me. I look
on him as a mentor for proving the impossible explosively possible.
I see him as a kindred spirit, a man cut of many cloths, with
the perseverence and audacity to excel in everything he attempts.
Trying on personas like outfits of a wardrobe, exploring new ideas
as each year of his life passes. He is proof to me that, not only
can an artist live life fully, but a human can even go so far
as to take on the gods and become one.
I've
seen Bowie in concert three times. Once at the Area 2 concert
in Chicago, once on his Reality tour in Seattle at the Paramount,
and once for Reality in Portland at the Rose Garden.
Take
a look at the Bowie monkey
I got backstage for David on his Reality tour.
Here's
a little something
for you musicians out there.
