Jareth; King of Goblin fame
Maharajah of dark domain
Those eyes of glass, sharp splinter gaze
To pierce my heart - a peaches' haze.
Stonelike he stands, sculpture so rare
But midnight ethereal, scatt'ring air.
Master of wind; his heraldic slave
Breathes secrets soft thru tempest rave.

Jareth; Lord of Faery sort
Enchanter great of mystic court
Smirk hides curves of labyrinth mind
Tempting veture - "Fear you what you'll find?".
At line of sight he holds my dreams -
The crystal sphere so fragile seems!
"Look what I offer - yours just to forget,"
But to task I'm holden. He's not won yet.

Jareth; Lure of hidden dreams
Hearts sole desire to me he seems.
"Defy me not" spits narrowed glare
Eyes burrow as though my soul were bare.
But duty duels my disarmed heart
Leaves task and fantasy cleft apart:
Does his end even here he see?
"Jareth, you have no power o'er me!"

Comments: This poem is based on the part in the film where Sarah meets Jareth for the first time; a poetic paraphrase of what happened between the two of them before Sarah entered the Labyrinth.
