(A crossover between Labyrinth and Time Quester)

Jareth sat on the ground transfixed at the thought of someone taking his own power. He was defenseless against anything that she would throw at him and that very thought made him shake like a frightened child. He looked at the gates once more and stood. The gates were made of silver and deep red gems. He summoned every once of courage he could muster and walked up to the gates.

They were massive. He saw a doorknocker and walked over to it. It was the face of a lion with a large silver ring in its mouth. Jareth took the ring in his hand and rapped on the door with it. It made a loud clang as it hit the metal of the gates. The massive gate swung open and showed him a view he thought he would never see. He walked through the gate and saw Toby in his crib and in walked Sarah to shut him up. Jareth was not expecting this. His heart rate jumped to a million miles an hour at the sight of Sarah.

He looked to his right and saw an opening. He looked to his left and he saw another opening. He now knew where he was. He was in a maze and he was determined to tackle it and Kalair and win back his powers. Deep in his brain, though, he wanted to win Kalair as well, though he wouldn’t even admit it to himself.

He took the right opening and walked through. He found himself in a rock formed maze. He ran towards the dead end that was in front of him and took a left. He ran down that corridor until he found an opening similar to the gates in front of the hedge maze in his own labyrinth. There were two men standing there infront of two doors. One man was dressed in red and the other was dressed in blue.

“Hello, there!” Jareth watched as the two men looked up at him from underneath their helmets. They then looked at each other and back at him.

“Who are you, sir!” They were talking at the same time.

Jareth looked hurt. He couldn’t conceive the thought that some one wouldn’t know of him. “I am Jareth! I am…was…the Goblin King…”

“The men looked at eachother and then back at Jareth. “What do you mean ‘was’?”

“Well…K-Kalair the Timelord has well…stolen my power!” Jareth was having difficulty trying to say it all. It was all too embarrassing really. Jareth tried to keep up the appearance that he had control. It wasn’t working very well, though. He just felt naked without his power.

The man in red smiled and laughed. “AH! I know whom you are talking about now, sir. I know Kalair. She is a gutsy lady, is she not? I’m surprised that your power is all that she took with her.”

The blue knight stood aside and opened his door. “Step through, sir…. You’ll get to her much faster this way.”

The red knight looked at the blue knight aghast. “How dare you lie to him! I’m the one with the door that leads to the quicker path towards the center, you pasty faced git wearing blue boxers!”

The blue knight blushed and closed the door. The red knight smiled courteously at Jareth. “I’m sorry, sir…my brother is fond of placing a person in the wrong time and place with his door.” The red knight stuck his tongue out at the blue knight, who had his arms crossed in front of his as he pouted, then he turned back to Jareth. He opened his door and made a gesture towards it. “Walk right on through, sir.”

Jareth smiled and walked through the door and found himself in a tunnel of light. There were all sorts of colors flashing at him as he walked through it and walked onto a green area. It was a room that was painted to look like there was shrubbery all around him in a maze. He found what looked to be a door and walked right on through.

Kalair reclined on Jareth’s throne and watched the conversation between him and the red knight. She wasn’t happy about it at all. She had conjured him from a past visit to a friends dimension. He was supposed to give him to his brother instead of let him through his own door. “Damned red knight! How dare he go against my orders!”

She threw the crystal she was looking into at the wall. Teller flew right up to her and landed on her shoulder. “You really need to calm ye’re self down, Kalair.” He began to run his hands along a deep red curl that was next to him.

Kalair gave Teller a side-glance and smiled. “I know, Teller. It’s just that Jareth infuriates me so incredibly much! Damn that luck of his!”

Kalair conjured another crystal ball in her right-gloved hand and looked into it. He was already in the green halls, much to her chagrin. He would be at the center in no time. She clenched her left hand in a fist and watched as Jareth ran into a dead end and ran to the right. “I’ll get you back, goblin king…. Count on it….”

Jareth found himself about to walk out of the green hallways. He walked through the large gold doors that separated the two areas. He found himself in a pure white room and watched as an older Sarah walked into the room. She looked at him and her jaw seemed to drop to the floor.

“Jareth….?” She was whispering his name as if afraid to hear it. She walked towards him and stopped just a few feet from him.

Jareth looked at her in awe. She couldn’t have been more than twenty-five. She had grown into her lovely long black hair and those piercing dark eyes. She had her hands out, seemingly wanting to hug him, but didn’t want to. “Sarah…. What is going on? I didn’t summon you and I surely doubt that you called for me….”

“I was just walking into my baby’s nursery to feed him and I saw you. Jareth… what is going on!” She was frantically looking for her child. “Where’s my baby!”

Jareth backed off and looked around. Hurt was visible in his blue gray eyes. “Kalair! This is sicker than what I did to you! Why ahr you doing this to me!”

Sarah raised an eyebrow and smirked. “You did it again, didn’t you, Jareth.”

Jareth looked at her in amazement. “What ahr talking about, Sarah.”

“You attempted to kidnap some one else and it back fired didn’t it. They are stronger than your tricks and they got a hold of something of yours and won’t let go, is that close enough?” She as still smirking.

Jareth opened his mouth to say something and lost his words. He regained some of his composure and attempted to speak again, but was interrupted by Kalair appearing next to Sarah. Sarah looked at her in surprise, but then smiled and turned back to Jareth. “I do believe I got him well and good by the short hairs. What do you think, Sarah?” Kalair smirked at Sarah and then looked over at Jareth.

Sarah crossed her arms in front of her and smiled at Kalair. “I think I have a clue what you just said.”

Now, Jareth was angry. “How dare you two talk about me like this! Sarah, I offered you the world on a platter and you shunned me! Kalair… I don’t know what I offered you, but I do know that I would have done the very same!”

“Jareth, you took my brother and threatened his safety! Then, you black mailed me into letting you have me, in exchange for my brother!” Sarah was shouting at the top of her lungs.

It was Jareth’s turn for his jaw to drop. “Sarah…I…I…”

“Oh…be quiet, Jareth! Why can’t you just leave me alone!”

Jareth remembered that Sarah said she was looking for her baby. He could use this. “I think you ought to ask Kalair there as to the whereabouts of yor child, Sarah!”

Sarah looked at Kalair and gave her a questioning look. “Did you take my baby? Did you?!”

Kalair gave a matronly look to Sarah and pulled a stray strand from Sarah’s face. “Yor child is safe, I can guarantee that. You ahr just in a time warp, is all. I sent you to screw up his journey through my Labyrinth of Time. He’s almost through and I want him to suffer for all the trouble he has caused me…” At the last line, she cast a glare at Jareth.

Sarah smiled deviously at Kalair. “I see…. So you are playing with him, huh?” She looked at Jareth and then back Kalair. “My baby is safe?”

“Yes, dearie… She is quite safe. I would never harm a child….”

“Then let me in on some fun, hmm?” Sarah cast the same glare Kalair did at Jareth. “Take his powers and shrink him so he can’t hit you.”

Kalair giggled and looked at Sarah while her head was down. “Would you believe I already did that?”

Sarah’s face contorted in glee and she laughed until she was tearing up. “Yes… Yes… I do believe you would’ve thought of that! Ha ha ha ha ha….”

Jareth was getting quite annoyed with the two girls before him. “I would enjoy this glorious conversation, but…. I need to go retrieve my prize! See you there, Kalair! I do hope you’ll be waiting for me.” He faked a kiss in her direction and ran through the left corridor.

Kalair looked perturbed at his gesture and started to blush. “That ignoramus!”

Sarah giggled at the sight of Kalair. She placed her hand in front of her mouth and tried not to laugh when Kalair shot her a glare. “What is so incredibly funny, Sarah?”

“I’m sorry…. It’s just that…. You’re so incredibly funny! You like him and won’t even admit it to your self!” Sarah giggled a bit harder.

Kalair smiled deviously and placed a hand on Sarah’s shoulder. “Go back through the right door there and you’ll find yor baby in her crib. Go on…”

Sarah complied and disappeared. Kalair looked up at Teller who flitted above her head. “Well, Teller? What shall we do to him next?”

Teller flew onto her shoulder and grasped a deep red curl to hold onto. “Let’s go meet his challenge in the center, boss!” Teller grinned and Kalair smiled in return. They disappeared front the white room.

Jareth found the center of the labyrinth with out difficulty. He saw his throne and in that throne was a lounging Kalair with the fairy flying above her. She had her hair up in a loose bun and the left side of her bangs covered her left eye as she gazed at him. She was drinking from one of HIS gold goblets. “I’m here Kalair! Now where is my power!”

Kalair conjured the glowing ball and tossed it at Jareth. The ball hitting him square in his chest stunned Jareth and he soon felt his power integrating itself back into him. He conjured two balls of flames and glared up at Kalair with an evil smile. “Now to return the favor…” He threw the fireballs at Kalair and watched her stopped them in midair.

“Not so fast, loverboy…. I am not through with you just yet.” She stopped Jareth as well. Jareth stood helpless against her as she stood from the throne and walked up to him. She placed a gloved hand on his chest and moved behind him. She got next to his ear and whispered. “What an interesting specimen you would make.” She walked to his front and kept a hand on his chest. “So strong in the powers you were blessed with and yet so arrogant, that he believes himself to be higher than anyone else. I could use you as my pet. I could bottle you up and keep you in a lab and you wouldn’t even know it.”

Jareth knew what was coming next. “So why don’t you do it, then?”

Kalair thought about it. She smiled and looked up at him. “Because… One such as you needs to be free. Just like everything else does.”

Jareth smiled. He wasn’t going to be loved up toast after all. Her hand was still sending shivers down his spine, though. “I shall take my leave then…. I had my fun and I do honestly believe that my counsel is going to try to take my head if I don’t leave soon.” She sighed.

She started to walk away when Jareth could feel control over his own body once again. He started to walk towards Kalair and stopped. “Why did you conjure Sarah like that…”

Kalair looked up at him and grinned. “Because I knew how much it would hurt you to see her as she will be a few monthes….remember…It was a labyrinth of time… the future is a fragile thing and so is fate. She will indeed see you in a few mothes and see how you ahr holding up against an all powerful Timelord.” She took out the gold watch and conjured a time/dimensional gate. “Now… I really ought to go now.”

Jareth got closer to her. “But…” He was silenced by a finger to his lips.

She grinned. “Don’t worry… I don’t think this’ll be that last time you’ll see me… and I do believe that you have a kingdom to run…” Jareth was still smiling at her. “Go on…go play with yor fairies and goblins and dwarves….leave the humans to my race.”

Jareth got closer and bent down, his face close to hers. She met his lips and kissed him deeply. He stood straight and then took her hand and bent down to kiss it. “Farewell, dear Timelord….I fear we shall meet again…sometime….”

Kalair smirked, then belted him in his jaw with her right fist. “Let that be a lesson to you, boy….” Jareth was on the ground and he looked up at her. He messaged his jaw and started to laugh hysterically. Kalair smiled and turned around to walk through the gate with Teller on her shoulder. They disappeared in the light and the gate closed with a flash.

Jareth stood up and brushed his pants off. He looked about the throne room that he had ended up in and smiled. “Hoggle! Come in here!”

Hoggle peeked in from behind the door. “Yes, your highness?”

Jareth smiled as he found a red crystal ball on the ground near where he was. He tossed it up in the air and caught it. “Never mind, Hoggle… Go… shoot down some fairies…”

“Yes, sire…” Hoggle walked out of the room grumbling.

Jareth sat on his throne and beamed at the crystal ball in his hand. “We shall see, Kalair…. We shall see….”
